articulated themes

informed by constant conflict of the bodymind, xeo conjures strange forms in sculpture, creating soul-imbued stuffies that are comfortable in their absurdity. the value of intimacy is found through dissections of physical identity, activated by trust in the body to exist as a vessel of feeling.

                    material reality

  • textile: like zines, stuffies change hands, existing in the intimate daily world of individuals as precious treasure.

  • found object: opportunity arises to plant secrets within these creatures. ephemera such as mixtape cds, trash, love letters, stuffed guts, marbles, river rocks, crumpled drawings, and room to spare allow these companions to hold as well as be held.
